The South West Community Foundation has announced 44 grants totalling $134,565 to the community of south west Victoria for the 2018 Granting Round. This figure is an increase on the funds distributed in 2017.

The grants support a wide range of activities and causes including upgrading the environment of the Drumborg Public Hall, funding to establish a ‘Language Café’ in Hamilton which will assist new migrants with their English language skills, a scholarship for the Great South Coast Leadership program, a defibrillator for the Red Rock Theatre and Gallery near Colac and funding for new library resources for the Warrnambool Special Development School.  Here is the link to view the full list of projects supported this year.  http://southwestco.wpenginepowered.com/2018/05/2018-grant-recipients

The Foundation wishes to thank the Cumorah Foundation, the David and Isobel Jones Family Trust and the Niall Foundation which use the Community Foundation to identify and assess grant applicants and have been able to also support 12 of the projects identified.

At recent Grant announcement evenings recipients were universal in their thanks to the Foundation. Dr Eric Fairbank, President of the Warrnambool & District Community Hospice said, “For an organisation like ours, raising $1000 for printing of vital information relating to ‘Living and Dying in Style’ is a difficult task, so having an organisation like the Community Foundation to help, is wonderful.”

The Foundation wishes to thank all applicants and apologise that we were unable to support them all. To assist us in funding more projects into the future please donate to the Foundation via our Donate Now button on our website or on our Giving page: http://southwestco.wpenginepowered.com/giving
