Congratulations to the Lake Bookaar Recreation Reserve Committee of Management, who have successfully received a @gardinerdairy Community Development Grant for a new toilet facility to be installed on site.

Lake Bookaar is a beautiful permanent salt lake nestled amongst basalt flows north-east of Camperdown, and a beloved spot for nature lovers across our region. Managed by a dedicated community Committee of Management, the reserve offers a wonderful lakeside walk where visitors can experience the area's incredible native flora and fauna throughout the year.

This grant will make a real practical difference, improving accessibility and amenity for the many visitors who enjoy this special place.

South West Community Foundation is proud to work alongside the Gardiner Foundation to facilitate grants like this one, supporting community-managed spaces that bring people together and connect them to the natural environment around them.

We are delighted to share that Timboon P-12 School has been selected as a recipient of the Gardiner Foundation Community Development Grant, a grant round that South West Community Foundation was proud to help facilitate.

The Timboon Agriculture Project (TAP) is a fantastic initiative building a real-world agricultural precinct within the school grounds, giving students hands-on learning experiences that connect the classroom to the land and the community around them.

In partnership with @westvicdairy and supported by the @gardinerdairy, this project is a wonderful example of what's possible when local schools, industry and community funders come together around a shared vision.

We look forward to watching this project grow and seeing the impact it creates for students and the broader Timboon community.

This is what the Koroit & District Community Fund can do 🙌

The Koroit Exercise Group recently received funding through our Koroit & District Community Fund to purchase new equipment for their group fitness classes, and the impact has been immediate.

Existing members now have the tools to push their strength and fitness to the next level, while the greater range of equipment and weights has made the group more accessible and appealing to new participants.

Group fitness is about so much more than physical health. It's about showing up, connecting with your community and supporting each other. The Koroit Exercise Group does exactly that, and we are proud that the Koroit & District Community Fund has been able to play a part in helping them do it even better.

This is local giving, creating local impact.

R U OK? Day. Sometimes a simple question can make a big difference.

Noticing. Asking. Listening. That's all it takes.

Today, and every day, check in with the people around you. Resources to help you start the conversation are available at ruok.org.au/community

A new season, new life, and a beautiful place to work.

The SWCF office is tucked away in what the team affectionately calls "the cubby" at Deakin University Warrnambool, nestled amongst the beautiful white Gum trees.

A little while back, Alison and Maggie noticed two herons creating a nest just outside their window. Now that spring has arrived, so have two very special little additions. Two fluffy, demanding and utterly adorable chicks, affectionately known as Ripple & Reach.

Watching them grow has been a lovely reminder of how important it is to have a safe place to build, grow and thrive. And in many ways, that's what SWCF strives to do every day. Creating opportunities, connections and support that help children, families and communities flourish.

People do their best growing when they have the right environment around them. Somewhere safe, nurturing and connected.

Perhaps that's why the cubby at Deakin feels like such a fitting home for SWCF.
