South West Community Foundation is proud to support the veterans of the @rslwarrnambool community.

Warrnambool RSL is the first organisation to access SWCF's new Community Charity Trust, a giving structure designed to support organisations delivering genuine charitable outcomes for our communities. It's a significant milestone, and a fitting one.

Our support is directed to the people at the heart of this organisation — the veterans and their families — not the commercial operations of the RSL itself. It's the welfare, the connection and the care for those who have served that we are proud to be part of.

The Warrnambool RSL committee works hard to ensure veterans and their families have access to essential support services and programs. Beyond that, these dedicated volunteers continue to raise funds for RSL Australia and host important community events that honour the spirit of remembrance across our region.

Veterans give so much in service to this country. We are proud to support the people and programs that make sure they are not forgotten.

What a joy it was for Colac Community Fund Chair, Robyn Alexander to drop in on a recent rehearsal with the Find Your Light Choir alongside some of our Colac Community Fund committee members.

South West Community Foundation was pleased to provide some support to this wonderful initiative through last year's Pitch Night event, and watching it grow from there has been something really special.

The Find Your Light Choir brings people together through music, connection and community, and the energy in that rehearsal room is proof that something truly wonderful is taking shape.

Their first full concert takes place on 21 June, and tickets have already sold out. We cannot wait to be part of the magic on the night.

Congratulations to everyone involved in building something so meaningful for the Colac community. This is exactly what community-led impact looks like.

We work across South West Victoria every day, connecting people and resources to support the communities we love.
But we want to hear from you.
What makes South West Victoria great?

Is it the people who show up for each other? The local businesses and producers who keep our towns thriving? The volunteers who give their time week in, week out? The landscapes, the culture, the sense of belonging that's hard to put into words?

Whatever it is for you, we'd love to know. Drop your answer in the comments below. 👇

On Friday, Alison had the pleasure of attending the first workshop of the @leadershipgsc Rural Women LEAD program, hosted at the beautiful Stables in Koroit.

Led by clinical and health psychologist @drjodiefleming, the session focused on emotional intelligence, personal strengths and self-compassion. Practical, grounding and genuinely thought-provoking.

Key takeaways centred on the importance of self-care, leading with positivity, and the intentional choices we make to build genuine connections that align with our personal values. A strong focus was placed on identifying and nurturing the things that replenish us, because when leaders stay connected to what fills their cup, they are better able to lead with authenticity and clarity.

South West Community Foundation is proud to support Leadership Great South Coast and the work they do to connect and elevate women across our region. Programs like this are exactly the kind of community-led investment that creates lasting impact.

Alison is looking forward to seeing what the next sessions bring.

You might have seen our name around, but what does South West Community Foundation actually do?
We connect local generosity with local need.

SWCF is a place-based community foundation serving the South West Victoria region. We build and manage community funds that support grassroots projects, local organisations and community-led initiatives — now and into the future.

Here's how it works. Donors contribute to a named fund, and those funds are held in perpetuity and invested over time. The returns are used to support local priorities, identified by people who know this region best.
It's long-term, locally-informed giving - structured, transparent and built to last.

We're not here to be the hero. We're here to make it easier for local generosity to find its way to where it's needed most.

If you'd like to learn more about how SWCF works, or how you can get involved, find us at southwestcommunityfoundation.org.

A big congratulations to Greg and Jo Moon, and everyone at Murcott's Driver Safety, on delivering the ALERT Warrnambool Defensive Driver Training day right here in our region. Making practical, high-quality road safety training accessible and local is no small thing, and the impact of that work is real.

Seeing drivers walk away with greater confidence, sharper skills and a better understanding of their vehicle is exactly the kind of outcome that strengthens our community for the long term.

We're proud to have supported this initiative and to see it come to life so successfully. Well done to all involved.
