Back to School

The Back To School Program provides $50 Target store vouchers to families struggling with the cost of starting a new school year.

The Back To School Program is an initiative of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).  It is supported by a range of donors including the Sidney Myer Fund, The R.E. Ross Trust and a number of other donors.

This year, The Isobel and David Jones Family Foundation, Niall Foundation and Felicity Melican have contributed along with FRRR, 561 vouchers for the benefit of southwest Victorian children, especially focussed for the winter months of the year.

Some feedback we have received to date from Principles and staff from these school is as follows:

“I just wanted to send both the thanks from myself, as well as the families who have benefitted from your recent supply of Target vouchers. The families we applied on behalf of are incredibly grateful for your support and very much appreciate the uniform, in particular shoes, that the vouchers have purchased.”

“As you are aware, many families and individuals in our school community go without many essentials due to a variety of factors and your donation will help support some of these identified families, particularly through the winter months.”

“I would like to thank you for the Target Vouchers that we received. The families that received them were so appreciative. One young mum with four students here had tears in her eyes, she had been saving up to get them school shoes. It’s a wonderful program that helps the less fortunate so I hope it continues, It was like adding a little bit of sunshine to their day.”

We hope the program continues next year and will be in contact directly with the schools of the region to see if they wish to apply for vouchers, depending on availability.

Thank you
